That still holds true today. The decor, accented by shiny, brown tile floors and seating right in front of the stage, creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. Live music several days of the week. However, on Thursdays you get to be the star on the stage with karaoke.

Great Wedding Reception Entertainment...
A wedding reception is your gift to your friends and family who supported you in your courtship and who will continue to support you in your life together. Creating a memorable, unique, romantic and fun wedding reception is paramount. The catch is balancing the amount of each ingredient above to achieve the right "reception" recipe. As an example, if having fun is most important, you may consider a bit an entertainer who is more interactive.
The "memorable" Wedding Reception: Creating a memorable event can be a challenge. Think back to the last few weddings you attended. Did you see or experience something that was memorable? How about creating a special moment for you and your fiance during the grand entrance where he reaches for the microphone, takes your hand and asks you to dance with him for the first time as his wife?
The "unique" Wedding Reception: How did you meet, is it theme worthy? Did you meet on an airplane, baseball game? Sometimes integrating simple themes during your wedding reception can create that special unique feeling that your guests love. How about serving your favorite food as an appetizer? Would serving an entree from your favorite Kansas City Barbeque restaurant do the trick?
The "romantic" Wedding Reception: This ones tough. Romance is so hard to fake. It has to come from the heart. Do you remember a wedding reception where you just couldn't help from shedding just one little tear? Maybe it's planning on an Anniversary dance or having all of the Fathers in the room join in during your dance with dad?
The "fun" Wedding Reception: Fun is probably the easiest to achieve, but can backfire quickly. Other DJ's rely on blow-up guitars and group dances to start the fun. I can offer you simple, non-cheesy ways to get your guests involved and keep them having fun all night long.
Want more? Just call me to setup a no-obligation appointment. We can talk specifically about your reception and I will offer you my expertise on how to make your event the "Perfect Wedding Reception"
Bose L1 system is a very clean, classy set up. It projects clean, detailed sound evenly across the stage and throughout an audience of up to several hundred with little change in tone or volume. It produces smooth and consistent tone whether you're in front of the speaker or off to the side. It reduces much of the unwanted room reverberation resulting in clear, undistorted sound.
L1 systems confine most of their sound energy in a wide, flat wedge of sound, projecting very little to the upper walls and ceiling. Sound remains clear and detailed, even in the back of the room. Sound from an L1 system is so consistent throughout the venue, you and your audience can enjoy full, detailed, tonally balanced sound. Whether you're at the front of the stage or the back of the house, in front of the speaker or off to the side.
Consistent sound levels
Because of its shape, the L1 system projects sound waves that expand out and to the sides, but sends very little up and down. Sound spreads more evenly
across the stage and into the audience, and the sound level drops off much more slowly than from a conventional speaker.
For example, imagine a conventional speaker and an L1 system placed side by side, set to produce the same sound level at a distance of one meter. At 10 meters
away, the conventional source already has 10 times less sound intensity than the L1 system. You have complete control over your sound, and you no longer have to wonder what your audience is hearing.
Smooth, uniform sound coverage
L1 systems spread the sound at nearly 180 degrees, so tone quality stays smooth and even from side to side. It puts it's full-range sound out over nearly 180 degrees horizontally (90 degrees is about the maximum for conventional speakers). This means that virtually everyone in the room will be able to hear precisely the same detail and quality of sound, which is wonderful for speeches.

Transplanted from Texas in 1985 "Tilly" worked as a radio DJ. Despite a life-long love of music she never sang until a mic was thrust into her hands and she was forced on stage. Since then she has been singing karaoke and at blues jams all over the area. In addition, "Tilly" has danced and sang on Bourbon Street and the Vegas Strip. Tilly loves music and, like Duke Ellington, believes "There's only two kinds of music, good music and that other stuff!"

Monthly Vocal Tip for September
Every professional singer has basic skills that must be applied in order to achieve a professional sound. One of the most basic skills is: "Breath Support". Believe it or not, most people in our world today do not breathe correctly. Most people breathe in a shallow manner that is not smooth and steady. (It's no wonder why we have so much illness in our bodies). Breathing is a natural function of the body for life and good health. When we breathe properly, we will feel better and improve our general health. Flooding the body with oxygen gives life and vigor to every part of the body including the brain.
To apply proper breath support to your singing, first apply the singer's stance that we covered last month. Then, take a deep steady breath in through the nose and mouth and breath deep, flooding the diaphragm with air. Think of filling the diaphragm from the bottom to the top and avoid the vacuum effect. Don't suck air in, but rather let the air fall into the lungs and diaphragm.
Continued on next page)
Next, get a full fill of air and then set it by holding the abdominal muscles in place. The feeling will feel like you are starting to do a set-up. Then, quietly hum action to the tone and open the mouth in a slow controlled manner and let the tone out. This 3-step method for proper breath support is known as: "Breathe, Set, Release". You will apply this technique on every singing tone throughout your entire song. With practice, you will find this breath technique easy and you will enjoy controlled breath tones on every word.
